Cusco Main Square Information

The Plaza de Armas, the main square of Cusco, is a place that you cannot miss.

The wide plaza is an architectural and cultural center of the city, with a large green park in the center and a bronze statue of the best-known Inca ruler, Pachacútec.

On one side of the square, you cannot miss the magnificent Cathedral of Cusco, a symbol of the Spanish conquest.

The rest of the square is surrounded by many charming buildings with arches where you can have lunch or enjoy your morning coffee accompanied by beautiful views.

The Plaza de Armas is the true heart of Cusco, dotted with restaurants (we prefer the local ones a few blocks away), cafeterias, outdoor clothing stores, and travel agencies. Although it may seem overwhelming at first, don’t overwhelm yourself.

We are pretty sure that you will intuitively visit the main square of Cusco several times during your stay to take it all in little by little.

Another reason why visiting the Plaza de Armas should be at the top of your list of things to do in Cusco is that it is an excellent starting point to explore other places of interest, more or less famous.kondor
